CRISTINA MARTI, guitar
She was born in Pedreguer in 1983. She studies guitar at the
Conservatoire Tenor Cortis of Denia, with Concha Ballester and obtains a
special award at the end of the degree. She won the first prize in the
tenth edition of the Contest “Concurs de Joves Intèrprets Ruperto Chapí
de Villena”as well as the best guitarist of the Valencian Land in the
11th edition of the Contest Francesc Tarrega of Villa Real. She takes
part in post-graduated courses with José Tomás, Carles Trepat, Manuel
Barrueco, Hopkinson Smith, and Josep Vicent Giner. She finished her high
guitar music studies at the High School of Music in Alicante with the
teacher Ignacio Rodes. At present, she teaches guitar lessons at the
School of Music in Teulada.
PAULA ORTOLÀ, oboe
She was born in Ondara in 1981. She began her music studies at
the Professional Music School in Alicante, where she obtained her
diploma as an Oboe teacher and a special award in Intermediate level.
She finished her advanced studies at the Advanced School of Music of
Valencia with the teacher Francisco Salanova.
She has taken continuing-education courses in oboe with the teachers
Jesús Fuster, Stefan Schilli, Juan Carlos Bàguena Roig, Fermin Clemente
and Miguel Quirós. She has been a member of the Marina Alta Orchestra,
performing as a soloist several times, with the conductor Francisco
Estévez. She has participated in several recordings with The Marina Alta
Orchestra too. At present, she teaches oboe lessons in several schools.
FRANCESC ESTÉVEZ, conductor
He was born in Ondara. He began his music studies at the
Advanced School of Music in Valencia. Afterwards, he graduated from
Composition and conducting at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música
de Madrid (Avanced School of Music of Madrid), with the teachers Antón
García Abril and Enrique García Asensio.
He furthered his studies in Conducting with the teachers Helmuth Rilling
in Stutgart, Karl Österreicher and Richard Edlinger in Viena and Harold
Faberman at University of Hartfort, Connecticut, USA.
In 1998 he founded the Marina Alta Orchestra (OMA), in which he is the
permanent conductor and recorded 6 CDs. He has conducted the Henry
Purcell orchestra of Valencia, The Mediterranean Symphonic Orchestra,
the Philharmonic Orchestra of Debrecen (Hungary), Solisti di Praga (Czech
Republic), Symphonic Orchestra of Michoacán State (Mexico) and has
worked with the Chamber Orchestra of Dresden.
CARMEN PAULA ROMERO, soprano
She was born in Murcia in 1983. She began her piano lessons at the Tenor
Cortis School of Music in Denia where she studied with the teacher Pepa
Álvarez and graduated from Intermediate School of Music in 2001. Since
then, she has studied at the Advanced School of Music in Castelló where
she obtained her Diploma in advanced piano studies with honors.
She completed her piano training with continuing-education courses at
the Musikeon School in Valencia conducted by Luca Chiantore.
After being part of the Choral society in Denia from 1995 until 2002,
she started her singing lessons at the Professional School of Music
Mestre Tàrrega of Castelló and finished them at the Professional School
of Music of Valencia obtaining her diploma with distinction. At present,
she continues studying singing at the Advanced School of Music in
Catalonia where she studies with the teacher Enedina Lloris.
ERNESTO CHULIÁ, trumpet
He was born in Catarroja (Valencia). He learned music in a familiar
background, learning singing, harmony and music theory from his father.
He studied trumpet with Vicente López and Maurice André, obtaining
International awards in contests such as Alber, Luneville, Perpignan
(France), Moers (Germany), Manresa, Benidorm and Córdoba (Spain). He has
offered more than two hundred concerts with Iberbrass, a metal quintet
for more than ten years as well as getting awards in several chamber
music contests.
Besides, he has performed as a soloist in different orchestras along the
country and has formed a duet with the pianist Fernando Tortajada and
the organist Josep Vicent Giner. Composers such as Antonio Fornet,
Vicente Roncero, Juan Pons, Salvador and Vicente Chulià and Vicente
Gasca have composed pieces of music for him. At present, he is a soloist
at the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid and teacher at the School of
Music in Fuenlabrada.
JOAQUÍN CABRERA, trumpet
He was born in Teulada, Alicante. He studied music at Oscar Esplà Music
Schools in Alicante and at the Royal School of Music of Madrid,
finishing his studies and obtaining his diploma in Barcelona. Manuel
Valero and Vicente López have been his teachers. Moreover he learned
from Guy Touvron, Maurice André and Bo Nilson in Sweden, Italy and
Paris. He is one of the most in demand trumpet players in many
Professional Orchestras and Bands as a frequent collaborator, taking
part in many chamber projects. His teaching work is worldwide recognized,
having pupils in schools such as in Paris and Lyon. At present, he
teaches trumpet at the schools in Teulada and Benidorm.
JOSEP VICENT GINER, organ
He is an organ and harpsichord player born in Denia. He studied with
teachers Rynko Ottes, Javier Artigues, Josep Mª Mas i Bonet and Michael
Radulescu. He finished his studies of high level with the highest marks,
among them, a special award at the end of the degree, the academic grade
“Magister Artium” of the University of Vienna with the qualification
“cum laude“ and the award “Premi al Mèrit Artístic del Ministeri de
Ciència i Cultura Austríac”.
He regularly offers concerts in the Iberian Peninsula as well as Europe,
both as organ and harpsichord player with programmes of renaissance,
baroque, romantic, chamber and contemporary music (playing for the first
time works of Amando Blanquer, Gordon Lawson and Josef Lammerz). As
visitor teacher he teaches seminars and courses of interpretation. He is
organ professor of the Conservatory in Valencia.
MARIA NACY, organ
She studied organ with Montserrat Torrent at the Advanced School of
Music of Barcleona,
with Michael Radulescu at the Hochschule für Musik
und darstellende Kunst in Viena and in different continuing-education
schools in Europe. She has performed in many countries in Europe and in
the USA. She has recorded two CDs with music of J.S. Bach and J.Reubke
with the church organ in Dominicos de Montpellier (France), ‘Five
centuries of Music’ CD with the organ at the Monastery of Vallbona de
les Monges (Urgell) and a CD dedicated to the Ancient Iberian and German
music with the historic organ of La Pobla de Cérvoles (Garrigues). She
has lately recorded the ‘Bach at the MOnastery of Vallbona’ CD in
commemoration of the 850 years of the foundation of the Santa Maria
Monastery. Since 1991, Maria Nacy has been the official organ teacher at
the School of Music of Barcelona. Moreover she has been an organist at
the Sant Bertomeu and Santa Tecla de Sitges parish churches. She teaches
Ancient Iberian music in our country and abroad. In the summer of 2005
she founded the Baroque Organ School in La Pobla de Cérvoles, dedicated
to the study of Ancient Iberian and European music, where she is a
teacher and artistic director.
AMELIE DEMBSKI, mezzosopran
She was born in 1983 in Mönchengladbach (Germany). She studied singing
lessons specializing in mezzosoprano with Rachel Robins at the
“Folkwang” music school in Essen. At present, she studies Catholic
church music within ecclesiastical music training in the bishopric of
Aachen (Germany). She works as a singing educator in her home town as
well as a national and international soloist in oratories, mass services
with orchestra, chamber concerts, symphonic concerts and recitals. She
has travelled around Italy, Portugal, Spain, Scandinavia, Czech Republic,
Poland adn Lituania, where she has peformed several concerts with the
well-known chamber orchestra of Lituania.
HENNING DEMBSKI, organ
He was born in 1070 in Mechernich (Germany). He studied ecclesiastical
catholic music at “Schumann” music school in Düsseldorf obtaining an A
national level diploma. Among his
teachers we can talk about Wolfgang
Seifen (organ extemporisation), Prof. Paul Heuser (“Orgel-Literaturspiel”),
Georg Friedrich Schenck (piano) and Raimund Wippermann (choir
conductor). He took several continuing-education couses with the
teachers Hubert Schoonbroodt, Daniel Roth, Ben van Oosten, Thierry
Mechler, Jos van der Kooy, Jon Laukvik, Andreas Rothkopf and Harald
Vogel. In 1993 he won the “Gottfried-Schreuer” organ contest in
“Literaturspiel” and extemporisation in Düsseldorf. He has worked as a
choir conductor in St. Peter in Zülpich and in St. Georg in Erzingen and
as a teacher in Ecclesiastical music at the Bishopric of Freiburg. Since
1999, Henning Dembski has been a choir conductor and organist in St.
Andreas in Korschenbroich as well as artistic director of the
International week of the Organ and the circle of friends of the Organ
music. The city of Korschenbroich appointed him president of the jury at
the International Organ contest in St. Andreas. He has performed in
several countries such as Italy, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Estonia,
Lituania, Czech Republic, Scandinavia and Switzerland.
CABANILLES CHOIR
The choir Coro Cabanilles de Algemesí is a formation of mixed voices
with 80 members, with ages ranging from 16 to 45 years. Their activities
consist of participating in very important liturgical solemnizations at
the Basilica de San Jaime in Algemesí and of following a very intense
concert schedule, both throughout Spain and Europe.
They have participated in various choral meetings and contests, among
which those held at Loreto (Italy), , Llangollen (Wales), First Prize at
the VII International Contest “Villa de Avilés” in 1990 and others stand
out.
Among the whole repertoire of the Coro Cabanilles a prominent place is
taken by the revival of the “Danzas al Santísimo Corpus Cristi” in 1979
by the Valencian composer Joan Bautista Comes, which had not been
performed in its entirety for approximately three hundred years, and by
work focussing on the interpretation of the vocal heritage left by the
composer Cabanilles as well as on the Valencian polyphony.
They have made two sound recordings:
“Cuatro Villancicos del Padre Soler” in the year 1986, and
“Obra vocal de Cabanilles” in 1990.
The Cabanilles Choir was founded by Diego Ramón Lluch and is currently
conducted by Júlia Oltra.
ARNAU REYNÉS, organ
He was born in Campanet (Mallorca). He obtained his degree as a piano
teacher at the Advanced school of Music of Valencia with the teacher
Perfecto García and organ and armonium diploma at the Advanced School of
Music of Barcelona with the teacher Montserrat Torrent. He has taken
organ interpretation courses by Harald Vogel, M. Radulescu and
Montserrat Torrent. He is a music teacher at the University of Balearic
Islands and organist at the San Francisco de Palma Basilica. He has
performed throughout Spain and Europe. He has researched and published
about historic organs on the Balearic Islands. He has performed with the
Symphonic Orchestra of the Balearic Islands as well as with the
Symphonic orchestra of Barcelona. He is co-founder and director of the
Organ Circle of Friends ACA and works for several choirs on the Islands.
He has recorded on TV and radio such as ZDF from Germany and Classical
Radio. Several Majorca Organ CDs have been recently published by Priory
Records firm.
BRASS QUINTET “AL VENT”
A stable group formed in our area (Pego) in 1992. Since then they have
played more than hundred of concerts covering a great number of styles
and epochs, and making whole concerts of renaissance music (Gandia 2004)
or Jazz Festivals (Calp 2007) focusing on the baroque, contemporary, and
light repertoire. They have recorded two CDs. |
